my first practicum session

Today was our first practicum session.Our theme was Reading a Story.we selected H.H.Munro's The Open Window.there are five people in our group and we decided to work on the same story.our session was divided into several of activities
  • pre reading activities in which students were given a picture and asked to write a caption and story.
  • students were given some words (taken from the story) and were asked to write a description using them.
  • then we did cut-up activity in which students were given cuttings of the text and were asked to arrange in an order
  • framing sentences exercise
  • reading circle activity
i used reading circles activity in my class which is a during and post reading activity.my objectives were to
  • develop cooperative reading skills
  • interact with the text as a team
  • work on different aspects of the text and develop there own questions and views

    You conducted the activity very well. Your instructions were clear and precise.
    I liked the way you tried to encourage the Ss and made efforts to put them at ease.
    Did you inform them what they were going to learn after your activity?
    Don't you think it is good to discuss the lesson plan in detail with your group members in order to avoid overlapping?
